Longbeach is situated about halfway
along the coastal road between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund Langbeach is part
of Walvisbay Resorts. The resort had its origin during the period when
Walvis Bay was still part of the Republic of South Africa, and the
need for a public resort near Walvis Bay complimented the idea to lure more
tourist and holiday makers to the Walvis Bay area. Construction work
on the tidal pools and jetty started in the late 70's and was commissioned
After the Completion of the camp site, day picnic area's and other
facilities by the then Minister of Tourism and regional development of the
RSA. Shortly after the completion of Langstrand a second resort was
constructed a few kilometer south called Dolphyn Strand, with more protected
swimming pool areas. Langstrand was also zoned as a residentual
area and soon after the infrastructure was complete, housing started to go
up one by one. After the completion of some of the apartment projects,
the resort become more and more popular and is now developed at a fast pace.
Langstrand is lê so ongeveer halfpad
'n ontwikkelaar 'n woonstel projek opgerig.
