EW - EASTERN WONDER SAFARI

DAY-TO-DAY ITINERARY OUTLINE
|
DAY 1 |
Arrive at Namibia's International airport where your host and transport will meet you. Transfer to Windhoek for a quick tour of its sights and sounds before settling into a comfortable B&B facility on the outskirts of Windhoek. Relax after the long flight and acclimatize to Namibia. |
| DAY 2 |
A
leisurely breakfast before heading north towards the Etosha
National Park Arrive at a safari camp near the entrance to the Park by mid- to
late afternoon - possibly time for a late afternoon Game drive before sunset. |
| DAY 3 |
After
breakfast, return to Etosha for a full day's wildlife viewing and lunch at
Okaukuejo. Return to camp before sunset. |
| DAY 4 |
Once
again, an
entire day's Game viewing across the length of the Etosha National Park's
visitor's area. Arrive at the centre camp in time for lunch. Continue towards
the western exit and leave the Park before sunset to settle in a nearby bush camp
before dinner. | |
DAY 5 |
An early start this morning to enter the water wonderland of Kavango and Caprivi regions. Arrive at your
first overnight venue, situated on the banks of the Kavango River. End your
day with a sunset raft cruise down the river. |
| DAY 6 |
Continue towards the "border" between Kavango / Caprivi to a comfortable lodge
situated on the banks of the last turn in the Kavango River, before it empties
itself out into the world famous Okavango Delta of Botswana. |
| DAY 7 |
The entire day at own leisure to join game viewing drives, relax, have a refreshing swim and end your day with a sundowners boat cruise. |
| DAY 8 |
After
bidding farewell to this water wonderland, arrive at a rustic rest camp where you may view wildlife coming to drink at a small waterhole, right in camp, clearly visible from your
chalet porch. Short nature hikes could result in viewing from the smallest
antelope in Namibia - the Damara Dik-dik - to the largest antelope in the
world - the Eland. | |
DAY 9 |
An entire day spent in the company of the
local San or Bushman community. Observe these dwarf-like, friendly people's
knowledge and skills of survival in the Kalahari.
(You are in Bushmanland!) | |
DAY 10 |
Crossing right over from the north-eastern
region of Namibia to the magnificent Erongo Region, you will today have the
opportunity to visit the largest, intact meteorite yet found on earth to date
- the Hoba Meteorite. |
| DAY 11 |
Probably the longest haul of your journey to date, you exit the Erongo Region
to enter the central Namib desert en-route to the dune belt of this ancient,
and most treasured wonder of Namibia. |
| DAY 12 |
An early start to enter the valley leading to Sossusvlei and the highest sand dunes in the world. Experience a sea of dunes and mountains that never seem to end. Return to the lodge for a quick stop, before continuing towards a
desert nature camp in the southern Namib as your next venue. |
| DAY 13 |
No particular rush this morning, sleep
a little later, maybe fill the last exposures on that film or memory disc, before
returning to Windhoek. Arrive at a
small Game Lodge en-route to the airport by late afternoon. Should you feel up
to it, join a sundowners nature drive for a final glimpse of our sunset on this, your last night in Namibia, Africa. |
| DAY 14 |
Subject to flight departure time, a leisurely morning for
nature walks, or simply laze in a pool chair, watching wildlife at the
waterhole. Transfer to Namibia's International airport to arrive in time for your departure flight. |
