NATURIST'S OR NUDISTS ARE MOSTLY ASSOCIATED WITH "RESORTS", ALMOST AS IF
THEY WERE LEPERS WHO NEED TO BE ISOLATED. WHEN
THE WORDS "ADVENTURE",
"SAFARI" OR EVEN "WILDLIFE"
COME INTO
THE EQUATION, NATURISTS / NUDISTS
ARE AUTOMATICALLY EXCLUDED.
THIS is sad, but
unfortunately true in most countries of the world. Little can be done
that will
significantly change this - but we CAN search for acceptable
alternatives!
Southern Skies -
Personal Safari Hosts in Namibia, Africa, have been doing just that
since 1999 - offering Naturist's safaris in Africa! Once again, limited to specific
venues,
away from "the public eye", but at least out in the wide open spaces &
unpolluted skies
of Africa - there,
where this free, naturism lifestyle, was intended to be enjoyed
- in Nature!
After many successful
Naturist's safaris, a general cry went out from both those who
have
been
here and experienced the adventure, & those who have not yet joined, but
wish
to do so:
"It is a long journey to Namibia, with costs involved. Although we have
thoroughly
enjoyed the actual Naturism experience / believe we will
enjoy the actual Naturism
experience, we have seen just what / read just what Namibia
has to offer. We truly
would appreciate to visit at least some of the
highlights of Namibia while visiting".
We have heard your plea
and gladly respond with, what we believe, the best alternative
- a
slightly longer visit than our standard, pure Naturist's safaris, but a
combo safari
with
both naturism and textile components.
Once again, a fully
customizable itinerary, but a sample itinerary presented to illustrate
what is
possible. On this safari the
emphasis is primarily
on a Naturism component with
short,
guest-chosen, textile excursions to view
places of interest
in the immediate
vicinity - such as some of
the highest sand dunes in the world at Sossusvlei, or the
Etosha National Park - as
and
when
decided upon by our individual guests at
the time
of visit.
SUMMARY OF NATURIST'S COMPONENT
Subject to flight
arrival time, guests will spend either three nights (midday - afternoon
arrival), or four nights (morning arrival) at a venue on the edge of the Namib desert.
Lodging will be in
permanent tents with beds and communal ablution facilities.
During your stay at
this venue, NOTHING has a fixed schedule, you will sleep or rest
when
you are tired, and eat when you are hungry, no organized meal times. No dres-
sing of
any
description is required
for the entire
duration of your stay at this venue,
not even during "meal
times". However, on your last morning here, you will be required
to dress - lightly - as you will
be visiting and climbing some of the highest sand dunes
in the world at
Sossusvlei.
The second venue is in close proximity to the Etosha National Park. This is a
campsite,
in the
shade of tall Mopane and White Syringa trees. Very private, but free & open,
with the option
open to guests at all times to visit the Park on wildlife viewing drives.
The third venue is a private house within the coastal town of Swakopmund - just for
two nights
-
from where ANY textile
excursion can be undertaken to partake of
adrenaline activities,
or to experience
the utter desolation of the lunar landscape, and
view the Welwitschia
mirabilis.
While in this private house, you may enjoy your naturism
lifestyle.
NO SCHEDULED
EVENTS - WE
REGRET TO INFORM OUR GUESTS THAT WE
HAVE "LOST" OUR VENUE FOR THE VERY POPULAR CHRISTMAS / NEW YEAR
EVENT THAT TOOK PLACE ANNUALLY. WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF FINDING
SOMETHING SIMILAR, ESPECIALLY FOR HORSE RIDING.
THEREFORE,
ANY
ENQUIRIES FOR A NATURIST'S SAFARI - FOR ANY TIME DURING 2008, WILL
BE TREATED AS AN INDIVIDUAL GROUP & BOOKING! THERE ARE NO EXISTING
GROUPS, SAFARIS OR EVENTS TO JOIN.
An ideal opportunity to
speak to family and/or friends to organize a group of your own.
Benefit
from the lower rate applicable to groups of more than two guests. Singles
-
contact another single traveller, or couples, to form a small group. Such arrangements
will not
only benefit the single enquirer, but also the joining couple - or any other
singles joining such
a group. (We have
tried over several years to accommodate
enquiries from several single enquirers
or couples who
wish to join existing safaris,
but coordinating dates and interests
proved futile).
